Today, I’m tremendously proud of Isaiah Bernard and Kiara LaBobe (AFN National Youth Council Co-Chairs), who both presented at the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs earlier this morning.
We’re studying the Second Generation Cut-Off within the Indian Act, and they did a fantastic job of explaining the concerns/stresses that these harmful sections create.
As a former member of the AFN Youth Council, I can say with confidence they did the organization proud – it was the fist time in history that the Co-Chairs were asked to be witnesses at a parliamentary committee.
